Selected properly, a book holder can reduce or even eliminate hand, wrist, neck and arm fatigue for book lovers, protect the book it holds, and protect the reader’s privacy. While book holders may be a necessity for book lovers facing certain physical challenges, most book lovers don’t initially realize the convenience of a book holder. However, virtually every book reader quickly find they prefer reading with one once they’ve used a well conceived design.
Some book holder designs can also function as a stand to position and support a book for convenient reading without the need of any other supporting device, thus providing “hands-free” reading pleasure. Some designs are simple wire creations that clip onto pages of the book to hold it open, while others form stands for use on flat surfaces and can be folded flat for easy storage or transport from home to office to school or wherever. Other designs include floor stands that can be rolled from a favorite chair to bedside to beside. Other designs feature spring steel inside plastic covers that wrap around a book to keep it open for reading and snap closed for protection during travel.
Other book holder designs can do double duty as copy holders, magazine holders, newspaper holders, etc, thus extending the number of benefits its owner enjoys. There are book holders designed to float in a pool or tub for those who want to read while in the water, and there are book holders designed to hold your book attached to your computer or laptop screen. And there are designs to securely clamp to a table, counter top or desk to hold a book weighing up to five pounds while preserving valuable work space. These are especially useful for cook books, repair manuals, user guides, instruction or installation manuals and other books you need to have readily visible when working, but where space is at a premium.
By finding the right book holder(s), a book lover’s enjoyment can be increased many fold.
